A steady rise in costs often means the water heater is wearing down too much.<\/li>\n<li><strong>A drop in hot water volume:<\/strong> If people in the household are getting stuck with lukewarm showers in the morning when this didn\u2019t happen before, you\u2019ve got a dying water heater. A plumber can tell you if repairing it will keep it effective for a few more years or if a replacement is the better long-term saving solution.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Corrosion:<\/strong> Water heaters are designed to resist corrosion for most of their service lives. Provided a water heater has routine professional maintenance, it shouldn\u2019t develop corrosion until it\u2019s over the hill.
